Los complejos imaginarios

Los complejos imaginarios

Abstract

The imaginary, which is a fundamental component of the world in which humans live, is based on the combination of projection, identification and transfer processes. Four types or states of the imaginary complex are distinguished and analyzed: magic, the realistic-sentimental complex, the rational-empirical state and the aesthetic-playful state. With regard to magic as an imaginary complex, three expressions of it are characterized and studied: anthropocosmomorphism (which includes animism), the myth of the double and certain specific magical creations, such as totemism and fetishism. The study of the generating forces of the imaginary reveals the importance of studying the energies that produce and sustain social realities.
