Elementos traza en el alcoholismo y la drogadicción

Abstract

Se han estudiado los niveles de elementos traza en una población alcohólica y adicta a drogas sin enfermedades manifiestas y correlacionado estos metales con los hallazgos clínicos, hematológicos, bioquímicos, serológicos y con el tipo de droga consumida (heroína, heroína + otras drogas, heroína + alcohol y alcohol). Para ello se han estudiado 163 individuos, 20 de ellos pertenecientes al grupo control y 143 adictos a drogas o alcohol. Se han obtenido alteraciones de dichos metales: 1.los sujetos alcohólicos presentan trastornos nutricionales, hiperremesis y calambres musculares; en adictos a drogas palpitaciones y precordalgias; son comunes en ambos grupos las manifestaciones depresivas. 2.en adictos a drogas -sin enfermedad manifiesta- aparecen, con frecuencia, serología positiva a vih y hepatitis b; linfopenia e hipergammaglobulinemia; En los alcohólicos anemia e hiperuricemia. 3. en alcohólicos aparecen disminución de zn en plasma y hematíes y de fe y mg en eritrocitos; aumento del cu en estas células. En adictos se encuentran hallazgos similares excepto mg normal en hematíes e hipercupremia. 4.segun serología positiva, mg y zn no varia; cu plasmático aumenta en vih y vhb; y li aumentado en vih.
