Plan de Equipamientos e Infraestructuras Culturales de Córdoba

Abstract

In the framework of Córdoba´s candidature for the European Cultural Capital 2016 the Contemporary Architecture Foundation elaborated together with the Cultural Area of the City council a Plan of Cultural Facilities and Infrastructures for the city (PEICC). The plan considered that the concepts of culture and city are indissoluble thanks to public space, which is regarded as a place for cultural activation and as the media where facilities can be connected. The result is a geographical map of public spaces and facilities that brings value to the heritage of the city and, at the same time, it can be recognised as a reference point for contemporary urban culture, initiating a long process towards a productive model that prioritises the role of the cultural industries.
