Litiasis coraliforme: técnicas de análisis

Abstract

Se exponen los resultados obtenidos del estudio practicado a 50 cálculos coraliformes, tras aplicar 5 procedimientos analíticos diferentes (tomodensitometría, microscopía electrónica de barrido, microanálisis, lamina delgada y lupa binocular), a dichos cálculos. Todos ellos extraídos quirúrgicamente de una serie de pacientes afectos de esta patología, con el objeto de establecer una relación de parámetros morfo-estructurales y una clasificación por grupos atendiendo a su composición química. Logro que se ha podido conseguir y que nos ha permitido presentar un completo atlas fotográfico de las diversas variedades morfo-estructurales y químicas, que se pueden presentar en este tipo de litiasis. Asimismo, se destaca en la presente tesis doctoral el importante papel que va a desempeñar, a raíz de nuestros resultados experimentales, la tomodensitometría en el estudio de estos cálculos, habida cuenta del cambio experimentado en los actuales tratamientos de la litiasis renal, mediante la utilización de la litotricia extracorpórea, ya que hasta la fecha es el único procedimiento de análisis que va a permitir conocer la estructura y composición calculosa antes de que sea intervenido el paciente.
