Abstract

En esta tesis abordamos el papel profesional y personal de Juan Vida, artista que desde sus comienzos en los años 70 ha estado ligado a la historia de Granada. Que al igual que otras capitales de provincias periféricas padecía en esos momentos de una gran sequía artística y cultural. El planteamiento de esta tesis no pretende ser una simple catalogación de obra sino un análisis más profundo del trabajo de un artista facilitado por la relación personal que nos une. Esta relación, ha supuesto para la investigación el poder trabajar directamente con el propio artista contando con un acceso directo a reflexiones, entrevistas, fotos, textos y obra inédita que jamás han sido publicados. Juan Vida vive personal y profesionalmente las experiencias de su ciudad y están presentes no solo en su creación artística sino también en los textos que publica en diversos medios de comunicación. Juan Vida ha sido discípulo y amigo de los artistas granadinos de la mitad del siglo XX José Guerrero y Manuel Rivera a los que siempre han considerado sus grandes maestros. Pero a diferencia de ellos, que decidieron “curiosear” por el mundo, Juan Vida permaneció en Granada y quiso formar parte de su historia, siendo testigo de los acontecimientos de la ciudad, vivirlos y formar parte de ellos.
