Emociones y competencia social para el desarrollo de la inteligencia emocional en Educación Infantil

Abstract

La inteligencia emocional es un constructo relativamente nuevo y en auge, tanto en las aulas como fuera de ellas. Sin embargo, es un constructo poco estudiado en educación infantil, por lo que habría que preguntarse: ¿Qué es realmente la inteligencia emocional y qué variables la integran? A lo largo de este estudio se analiza el grado de desarrollo emocional en alumnos y alumnas entre 3 y los 6 años de edad, estableciendo una relación entre éste y el desarrollo social en términos de habilidades sociales y de comportamientos antisociales. Para ello, se ha contado con 44 participantes con edades comprendidas entre 3y 6 años, y se han utilizado diversos instrumentos pioneros en el campo, con el fin de realizar una investigación exhaustiva de las emociones primarias y secundarias, así como de habilidades sociales (cooperación social, interacción social e independencia social) y el comportamiento antisocial (exteriorización e interiorización de problemas). Los resultados permiten apreciar un aumento progresivo con la edad del reconocimiento de emociones primarias, que van favoreciendo a su vez en la aparición de las emociones secundarias, repercutiendo ambas en un crecimiento gradual de las habilidades sociales, y un descenso del comportamiento antisocial.
