La célebre "Collier du pigeon, sur l'amour et les amants", compasé par Ibn Hazm à Jativa en 413 H./1022, n'est pas seulement la Bible de l'amour courtois arabe. Vraisemblablement la premiere, ou l'une des toutes premieres oeuvres de son auteur, qui a alors vingthuit ans, ce texte conduit à s'interroger sur le point de départ d'une pensée qui va, par la suite, s'étendre a un vaste domaine religieux, juridique, linguistique, moral et métaphysique.
