Micropartículas de alginato conteniendo paracetamol

Abstract

Microparticles containing paracetamol (PCT) were formed by emulsification/internal gelation of alginate solution dispersed within vegetable oil. The morphology and size distributions of the microparticles were determined. The calcium ion concentration was studied and it seemed to be a critical parameter in the production of microparticles. It was observed that as the calcium ion concentration was increased, there was seen increased the total particle yield and the drug loading of PCT. The technique allowed to obtain a system with ideal micromeritic characteristics and major entrapment efficiency of PCT.
