Abstract

Las desigualdades de género están presentes en la vida diaria. Las actitudes y comportamientos relacionados con el género son aprendidos, no son innatos. Ese aprendizaje se realiza a través de instituciones sociales como los medios de comunicación masiva, instrumentos poderosos en la creación y transmisión de cultura, actitudes valores y aspiraciones. El autor da cuenta de los resultados de la investigación sobre "Análisis de género en mensajes promocionales y educativos elaborados por el Frente Social, cuya finalidad de conocer la intencionalidad de los mensajes y particularmente conocer el tratamiento de la mujer en este tipo de mensajes. Los resultados que se obtuvieron fueron: A la mujer se le asigna el rol de ama de casa, madre de familia y esposa sumisa, responsable de todos los problemas domésticos a cambio el hombre es el proveedor. Recomienda que a través de la generación de materiales educativos es posible reproducir o modificar concepciones y percepciones que están arraigadas en la vida cotidiana de los individuos.
