Una nueva forma de periodismo cultural está surgiendo como una especialidad del periodismo científico y cultural. Hay más de 200 definiciones de "cultura". El periodismo del área es tarea de especialistas que no solo debe difundirla sino también producir un discurso de la cultura, es decir, crear mediante formas simbólicas la comprensión y la interacción de individuos y grupos acerca de su realidad
