Abstract

La solidaritat de grup, teixida sobre les creences i els interessos compartits, infon seguretat i identitat als homes i a les dones de cada societat. En deriva fàcilment el rebuig d’aquells amb els qui col·lisionen els interessos o d’aquells que, en algun sentit, són diferents. Es generen així poblacions rebutjades que poden esdevenir poblacions desplaçades. Apreciar l’experiència de l’edat mitjana davant d’aquestes situacions pot aportar lliçons des del passat cap al nostre present. Deu destacats historiadors, aplegats a Balaguer el juliol de 2017 pel Grup de Recerca Consolidat en Estudis Medievals Espai, Poder i Cultura de la Universitat de Lleida, exposen en el present llibre com a l’edat mitjana s’acollien, es rebutjaven o s’expulsaven aquells que eren percebuts com a diferents.
