Abstract

El título del serial, Fabra & Santana evoca a un nombre de bufete de abogados o de una agencia de detectives, aunque el género es justo lo contrario. Su género consiste en drama y comedia, con elementos del subgénero de la “Estafa”. Ya que el serial se centra en el negocio que tienen Elena y Gabriel sobre ayudar a alumnos mediante “ventajas académicas”; desde robar exámenes, hacer trampas… Fabra & Santana tiene una primera temporada bajo el nombre de Curso 1994-95, dividido en 6 capítulos con una duración de 45 minutos de media. El piloto, en cambio, tiene una duración mayor, como suele ocurrir en numerosos primeros capítulos, ya que sirve para introducir una gran cantidad de elementos por primera vez. Tiene una estructura de base episódica con subtrama serial. Ya que cada capítulo contiene un nuevo cliente con una trama autoconclusiva, pero también se compone por subtramas y arcos narrativos que se desarrollan al largo de los capítulos. 1994, Elena Fabra y Gabriel Santana son amigos y estudiantes de la Universitat de Lleida, tienen un negocio de ventajas universitarias; que consiste en hacer trampas en exámenes y trabajos para terceros. Este negocio empieza a peligrar a la vez que su relación cuando perjudican a la persona equivocada.
