Usos alternativos del calostro bovino en humanos y animales

Abstract

Durant molts anys el calostre boví (CB) només es feia servir com a producte per transmetre immunitat als vedells de les explotacions les primeres hores després del part. Amb el temps s'ha vist que és un producte de gran valor ja que està compost per immunoglobulines, macronutrients, micronutrients, factors de creixement i pèptids amb activitat antimicrobiana, entre d´altres. El desenvolupament de la societat i l'avenç de les tecnologies ha permès investigar més sobre aquest producte que es trobava en un segon pla però que amb cada nova recerca adquireix més importància degut a seves diverses característiques. En humans, a causa de la seva capacitat antimicrobiana, s'ha vist que es pot fer servir com a preventiu o curatiu en diverses malalties. A l'àmbit nutracèutic pot ser un gran complement per a esportistes i fins i tot un ingredient ideal per realitzar productes lactis. A l'apartat de recerca humana se li poden aplicar diferents usos com a vehicle de fàrmacs, regenerador de cèl·lules o producte fortificant en prematurs. En animals també s'ha fet servir davant de diferents malalties a causa de la seva capacitat antimicrobiana. En la nutracèutica aplicada als animals, el CB es pot incorporar en pinsos amb l'objectiu de millorar el rendiment productiu i en alguns casos, fins i tot és protector. Cal destacar que la gran part de recerca que es fa en animals té com a idea final poder traspassar les conclusions obtingudes als humans. En l'actualitat, el CB és un producte que està adquirint un gran pes al mercat a causa de la seva gran quantitat de beneficis i els diferents possibles usos que se li poden donar. Tot i això, gran part d'autors demanen més investigació en aquest camp, cosa que mostra el recent interès sobre el tema i el seu gran potencial futur.
