Inequidad y justicia social frente a la digitalización en educación y salud

Abstract

En el monográfico Salud, Educación y Conectividad publicado en el año 2021 (Espart, 2021), se abordaron una parte de los desafíos que hubo que enfrentar en sectores como la salud y la educación a consecuencia de la pandemia por COVID-19. Diferentes autores expusieron de qué manera las herramientas digitales pasaron a ser parte necesaria en la vida de estudiantes y profesores para mantener un sistema educativo en plena pandemia. También de qué manera la ciudadanía en general tuvo que adaptarse a nuevas maneras de contactar y relacionarse con el sistema sanitario, el cual además de desbordado por la situación, tuvo que implementar nuevas herramientas digitales para que la población pudiera tener acceso a la salud, minimizando el riesgo de posibles contagios por SARS-CoV-2. Pero la adaptación a estos cambios no fue la misma para todos. Aspectos individuales (alfabetización digital, edad, estatus socioeconómico) y colectivos (políticas públicas, desigualdades sociales, etc.) influyeron de manera directa en todo ello. El término equidad digital pasó a ser un concepto clave para comprender una nueva desigualdad que afloró en su máxima expresión durante la pandemia. (Introducción)
