This work aims to investigate the reception of Brazilian Literature in China, covering the history of Brazilian Literature translated into Chinese, from the 1950s to the present day. A bibliographic research of printed and digital contents prepared by several specialists was carried out, in order to identify how the translation and reception of Brazilian Literature on Chinese soil took place, especially with regard to the productions of the Bahian writer Jorge Amado ， considering that, as a member of the Brazilian Communist Party, the causes defended in the Brazilian writer's works were applauded by the young Chinese communist government in the 1950s, when Jorge Amado was presented to the Chinese as a "fighter for peace" rather than a writer. In Brazilian literature, but also in literature translated into China, Jorge Amado (1912-2001) is one of the mandatory references. The author has written more than 30 books in 70 years, and 15 of his titles have been translated into Chinese. He was the first Brazilian writer to be published in Chinese after the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949. With so many works translated, Jorge Amado became very "loved" by the Chinese. In chronological order, this dissertation is divided into three chapters, the first chapter focuses on Brazilian literature in China from 1950 to 1980, the second chapter focuses on Brazilian literature in China at the end of the 20th century and the third chapter is dedicated to the examination of Brazilian literature in China after 2001. Obviously, when discussing the direction of Chinese research on foreign literature, the influence of the political and economic fields on literature cannot be ignored. Depending on the period covered, the interest in studies related to Latin American and especially Brazilian literature has changed over the last few decades, either on the decline or on the rise. This article will combine the political position, literary evolution and academic evaluation of Brazilian works translated into China, and will expose the works of writers with the greatest literary value and artistic characteristics of each period.

Este trabalho objetiva averiguar a recepção da Literatura Brasileira na China, percorrendo a história da Literatura Brasileira traduzida para o idioma chinês, desde a década de 1950 até os dias atuais. Foi realizada um levantamento e uma pesquisa bibliográfica de textos e obras literárias publicadas e de estudos impressos e digitais elaborados por diversos especialistas, a fim de identificar como ocorreu e ocorre a tradução e a recepção da Literatura Brasileira em solo chinês, especialmente no que tange às produções do escritor baiano Jorge Amado ， considerando que, como membro do Partido Comunista Brasileiro, as causas defendidas nas obras do escritor brasileiro foram aplaudidas pelo jovem governo comunista chinês nos anos 50, quando Jorge Amado foi apresentado aos chineses como um "lutador pela paz". Na literatura brasileira, mas também na China, Jorge Amado (1912-2001) é figura muito relevante. O autor escreveu mais de trinta livros em setenta anos, e quinze de seus títulos foram traduzidos para o chinês. Pelas razões acima referidas, ele foi o primeiro escritor brasileiro a ser publicado em chinês após a fundação da República Popular da China, em 1949. Com tantas obras traduzidas, Jorge Amado tornou-se muito "amado" pelos chineses, tal como procuramos examinar criticamente no presente trabalho. Em ordem cronológica, esta dissertação está dividida em três capítulos, o primeiro capítulo foca a literatura brasileira na China de 1950 a 1980, o segundo capítulo concentra-se na literatura brasileira na China no final do século XX e o terceiro capítulo dedica-se ao exame da literatura brasileira na China após 2001. Obviamente, ao discutir os rumos da tradução e divulgação chinesa de literatura estrangeira, a influência dos campos político e econômico sobre a literatura não pode ser ignorada. Esta dissertação analisará, assim, da perspetiva literária e histórica e socioeconômica, o processo de recepção e tradução da literatura brasileira na China.
