Abstract

In recent years, there has been a growing concern with the prevention of psychosocial risks due to the negative consequences they can have on the health and safety of workers. Despite the fact that the work environment is increasingly competitive and demanding due to new, constant challenges and obstacles, the worker role continues to be central in the lives of individuals. The psychosocial risks can be related to the absence of boundaries between work and leisure, as well as difficulties in the balance between personal, family and professional life, therefore it is relevant to consider the importance of satisfaction with other life roles besides the worker role. The present investigation aims to identify psychosocial risk factors and levels of satisfaction with life roles (professional, family and leisure), and to study the relationship between the two variables. For the collection of the study sample, 42 workers of an information technology company, the COPSOQ II (medium version) and the Satisfaction with Life Roles Scale were used. The results identified the psychosocial risks with greater and lesser impact on workers' health, as well as those that stood out the most (quantitative demands, role clarity, self-efficacy, burnout, stress and depressive symptoms) compared to national reference values. There was a high level of satisfaction, and workers feel more satisfied with the family and leisure roles than with the professional role. It was also confirmed the relationship, either direct or inverse, between some of the psychosocial risks identified above and satisfaction with life roles, and with life in general. At the end, reference is made to the main limitations and contributions of the present study, along with proposals for future research.
