Abstract

Changing macroeconomic conditions such as a new environment of low interest rates, increased regulatory focus, new competitors and geopolitical instability are creating new challenges and opportunities for the insurance sector and, in addition, the needs and expectations of customers continue to evolve quite quickly. Nowadays, customers expect to receive personalized products and services on time and in a way that suits them. In other words, customers demand a flawless, instantaneous, omnichannel experience that is more retail-like than traditional insurance. Thus, the competition is heightened between insurance companies that compete for the lowest possible premium to do justice to their counterparts. In a competitive market, such as the one we live in, companies want to attract and retain the best employees and for that they offer them the best benefits, including insurance, namely, health and life insurance. These types of rewards are also designed in order to motivate employees, improve productivity levels and contribute to building and strengthening the company’s culture. With this in mind, this project intends to analyze and optimize the calculation of the commercial rate in group life insurance, a crucial decision as it is a method of comparison for the client between the various insurance companies. This way, it is intended to find out in which situations it would be advisable to approach this rate differently, taking into account the characteristics of the insurance universe.
