Abstract

This dissertation seeks to analyze how the use of folksonomy occurs in the online environment, focusing on relationship platforms, social networks. To fulfill this objective, the use of the hashtag #meuprimeiroassedio was mapped on the digital platform Twitter. With this, we seek to understand how a tag can be used, not only as a means of retrieving information, but also as a social movement, a form of expression or communication. In the research, the impacts of social networks on the ways in which people engage in social movements and raise debates about society's problems were also analyzed. Thus, we tried to understand how folksonomy is present in this context. The results show that women are the users who most engaged with the movement, mainly positively, in support for victims of harassment. The research also shows that positive engagement far outweighs negative engagement, thus revealing that people can connect through social media and support each other by sharing experiences and affinities
