Abstract

Vasculares malformations of the head and neck, although frequently benign, cause serious patient morbility due to their ability to cause aesthetic deformations and funcional limitations. Initially, plastic surgery has been the treatment of choice offered to this patients. However, since its invention and application injection sclerotherapy has assumed a major role in the treatment of inumerous vascular diseases, including vascular malformations. In this paper we employ an illustrative clinical case to review and discuss the presentation, work-up, diagnosis and treatment of venous malformations.
