This paper analyses the place occupied by Levantado do chão in the fictional production of José Saramago and its importance for the periodization of Portuguese literature of the second half of the twentieth-century, namely for the consideration of literary postmodernism in Portugal.

O presente artigo analisa o lugar de Levantado do chão na produção ficcional de José Saramago e a sua importância para a periodização da literatura portuguesa da segunda metade do século XX, nomeadamente para a consideração de um pós-modernismo literário em Portugal.
