Aplicação da hipnose clínica na obesidade

Abstract

Obesity poses serious disease control issues, often associated with long term therapeutic failure. Within this multifactor syndrome, an underlying subconscious psychological component may be partially held accountable for the lack of motivation and commitment in weight loss programs and corresponding repeated relapses. Consequently, there is need to envisage new complementary therapeutic interventions, specifically targeting psychological factors. The aim of this dissertation is to ascertain the contribution of clinical hypnosis in obesity treatment, analyzing the potential benefit this approach may add to other therapeutical methods, as well as its efficacy.
