Seio maxilar : perspectiva interdisciplinar

Abstract

Oral surgical procedures should preserve and respect the anatomical integrity of maxillary sinus. The main objective of this literature review was to organize a simple and consistent approach of most common maxillary sinus related complications resulting from dental practice. Procedures to prevent exposure/perforation of maxillary sinus membrane are described. As well as procedures taken in order to close sinus communication. The two sequelae, resulting from sinus communication of most concern are the postoperative maxillary sinusitis and formation of a chronic oroantral fistula. A reference to sinus lift and biomaterials used for the technic of lateral window is also made.
