Abstract

O Presente trabalho tem como objectivo principal captar o conceito de autonomia tido por professores do ensino público e do ensino privado, se estes a possuem e até que ponto a autonomia se relaciona com a prof issionalidade. Trata-se de um estudo de natureza predominantemente qualitativa que envolve 10 professores do ensino público e do privado. No aspecto metodológico recorremos à entrevista e à análise de incidentes críticos como técnicas de recolha de dados. Da análise dos dados emergiram as representações que os professores têm a propósito desta temática, representações que foram confrontadas com os relatos dos incidentes críticos. Este é um estudo essencialmente qualitativo que pelo universo que abrange e pela sua própria natureza, só pode ser considerado um trabalho exploratório.

The main purpose of this study is to understand the teacher's autonomy concept in public and private schools, as well as it verifies how the teacher's representations are related with their way of being professional. This is on essential a qualitative study that involves 10 teachers of public and private schools. We've adopted some different kinds of methodology: semi-structure interview" and " critical incident registry". From the analysis of these teacher's representations about this thematic, those are related with their critical incident registry. Although based on some quantitative elements obtained by semi-structure interview, this is on essential qualitative study that, due to its reduced dimension and its own exploratory work.
