Abstract

O conjunto de ensaios deste livro tem uma origem comum: o Colóquio Internacional 100 anos de Jorge Amado. O escritor, Portugal e o Neorrealismo, realizado em Portugal, em novembro de 2012. Concebida pelo Grupo de Investigação 6 do Centro de Literaturas e Culturas Lusófonas e Europeias (CLEPUL) da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa, com o fito de participar nas celebrações do centenário do escritor baiano, a iniciativa foi realizada em conjunto com o Museu do Neo-Realismo (Vila Franca de Xira), o Centro de Literatura Portuguesa (CLP) da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Coimbra e o Centro de Investigação Transdisciplinar Cultura, Espaço e Memória (CITCEM) da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto. A duração alargada do colóquio possibilitou a apresentação de um vasto leque de comunicações sobre a obra amadiana, nas quais especialistas nacionais e estrangeiros focalizaram, especialmente a relação de Jorge Amado com Portugal e os neorrealistas.
