Em torno da autonomia profissional do professor

Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to understand the teacher's and students' autonomy concept, as well as it verifies how the teacher's behaviour is related with the representations of the autonomy's concept. As a "multicase study", we've adopted two different kinds of methodology: "semistructure interview" and "systematic observation". From the analysis of these cases, emerged the representations that teachers' ant students confess to have about this thematic; some differences of attitude between teachers and students; and the gap between the behaviours that teachers describe in this area and their real practices. Although based on some quantitative elements obtained by systematic observation, this is on essential qualitative study that, due to its reduced dimension and its own exploratory work.
