Análise da microdureza em diferentes resinas compostas

Abstract

Introdução: As resinas compostas estão em contínuo desenvolvimento e apresentam uma oferta diversificada. Assim, é fundamental caraterizá-las, de modo a conhecer as suas propriedades mecânicas com o intuito de facilitar o processo de seleção das resinas compostas por parte do médico dentista. Objetivo: Avaliar in vitro a microdureza de oito resinas compostas comerciais: seis nanohíbridas e duas microhíbridas. Materiais e Métodos: Foram testadas 8 resinas compostas: duas microhíbridas (XRV Herculite® Esmalte e XRV Herculite® Dentina) e seis nanohíbridas (IPS Empress ® Direct Esmalte e IPS Empress ® Direct Dentina; Herculite ® XRV Ultra Esmalte e Herculite ® XRV Ultra Dentina; Enamel Plus HRi® Esmalte e Enamel Plus HRi® Dentina). Foram preparadas 10 amostras de cada tipo de compósito e, posteriormente, colocadas na estufa a 37ºC durante pelo menos 24 horas. Após esse período todas as amostras foram submetidas ao teste de microdureza Knoop. Os dados foram analisados recorrendo ao teste One-Way ANOVA, seguido do teste post-hoc de Scheffé, para um grau de confiança de 95%. Resultados: Apesar de todos os grupos apresentarem valores diferentes entre si, só existem diferenças estatisticamente significativas entre o Enamel Plus HRi® dentina e os compósitos Herculite® XRV Ultra dentina, XRV Herculite® esmalte, Herculite® XRV Ultra esmalte, Enamel Plus Hri® esmalte, IPS Empress® Direct esmalte e IPS Empress® Direct dentina. Conclusão: A resina composta que apresentou valores de microdureza mais elevados foi o Enamel Plus HRi® dentina. São necessários mais estudos comparativos das resinas compostas dentina e esmalte das diferentes marcas comerciais.

Introduction: Composite resins are in constant development and feature a diverse offering. Thus, it is crucial to characterize them, in order to know their mechanical properties and simplify the selection process of the composites by the dentist. Purpose: To analyze, through an in vitro study, the microhardness of 8 composite resins: six nanohybrid and two microhybrid. Materials and Methods: Eight composite resins were tested: two microhybrid (XRV Herculite® Enamel e XRV Herculite® Dentin) e six nanohybrid (IPS Empress ® Direct Enamel e IPS Empress ® Direct Dentin; Herculite ® XRV Ultra Enamel e Herculite ® XRV Ultra Dentin; Enamel Plus HRi® Enamel e Enamel Plus HRi® Dentin). Ten specimens were prepared for each composite. All the specimens were kept and stored in 37º C for 24 hours and later tested with the Knoop microhardness test. The data were analysed according to One-Way ANOVA and Scheffé post-hoc test, with a confidance level of 95%. Results: Although all groups showed values different from each other, only statistically significant differences were found between Enamel Plus HRi® dentin and the resin composites Herculite® XRV Ultra dentin, XRV Herculite® enamel, Herculite® XRV Ultra enamel, Enamel Plus Hri® enamel, IPS Empress® Direct enamel e IPS Empress® Direct dentin. Conclusion: The composite resin that showed the highest microhardness was Enamel Plus Hri® dentin. More studies are needed to compare different commercial brands of enamel and dentin composites.
