Os jovens portugueses no contexto da Ibero-America

Abstract

O presente livro, tendo por base o 1.º Inquérito às Juventudes Ibero-Americanas, centra-se no estudo das atitudes e dos valores dos jovens portugueses, tomando-se por termo de comparação os jovens da Ibero-América. Numa primeira parte abordam-se as atitudes dos jovens perante temas socialmente sensíveis, dando-se particular destaque à sexualidade e às perceções de violência social. Numa segunda parte analisa-se a participação cívica dos jovens e as suas atitudes perante a democracia, bem como a (des)confiança nas instituições democráticas. Finalmente, aferem-se situações e representações no campo da educação e das inserções profissionais, questiona-se o uso das novas tecnologias e confrontam-se atitudes em relação ao presente e expetativas perante o futuro. Para além da sua relevância científica, o estudo realizado é um importante contributo para todos os atores políticos que trabalham nas políticas públicas de juventude.
