La competenza socio-emotiva nella formazione docenti

Abstract

In un contesto scolastico sempre più articolato e complesso, la professionalità del docente richiede il possesso di competenze non soltanto didattico-disciplinari ma anche comunicative e socio-emotive. Jennings e Greenberg (2009), ritengono che un docente debba essere socialmente ed emotivamente competente, per affrontare le molteplici situazioni relazionali che potrebbero presentarsi in un contesto classe. Competenze fortemente promosse nell’agenda della politica dell’istruzione e nel dibattito pubblico, in particolare mediante azioni di investimento per lo sviluppo delle competenze trasversali negli studenti e nel personale formativo (Disegno di Legge n. 2943, art. 2, Formazione dei docenti per lo sviluppo di competenze non cognitive nei percorsi scolastici). D’altronde, l’Obiettivo di Sviluppo Sostenibile 4 dell’Agenda 2030 chiede di portare ogni giorno nelle classi un’educazione di qualità, equa ed inclusiva che abiliti gli studenti ad assumere un ruolo attivo e responsabile nell’affrontare le sfide.
