The book, through the selection of some projects of houses, intends to define the personal path of research, aimed at the forms of living, of Fran Silvestre Arquitectos Each work is presented in its development: from the initial sketch, which already contains the idea and the project potential, to the model that corresponds with effectiveness and precision to the realization; from the drawings, whose essentiality reflects the poetics of space, to the images of the construction. To allow different levels of reading, only houses built and inhabited have been included, houses that invent landscapes and measure themselves with the “daily life” of beauty. Their scenario is the region of the Comunitat Valenciana, except the casa de aluminio built in Madrid. The casa en Santa Pola, the only one still under construction, is included in the book to show the relationship between the structure and the space, and the potential of the technologies to change the formal principles.

Il volume presenta alcune recenti opere dell'architetto spagnolo Fran Silvestre le cui opere si compongono di un numero limitato di gesti, di linee e di volumi, evitando discontinuità e ricercando l'armonia tra le parti. Un'architettura animata dall'idea di essenzialità, dalla pratica del disegno e dalla costruzione dei modelli che implica la riflessione sul dettaglio e la ricerca di continuità dell'intero organismo architettonico, in cui il colore bianco consente un controllo maggiore dello spazio, unifica le forme e ne permette la migliore comprensione. Nel rapporto tra architettura e luogo, specialmente quando si tratta di un paesaggio naturale, l'architettura di Fran Silvestre ricorda una poetica mediterranea: i volumi si stagliano contro il cielo e si inseriscono nella natura sovrapponendovi il proprio ordine euclideo.
