The PhD in Architectural Design of Palermo has identified the restoration of modern architecture as a new interesting topic in which the false barriers between different scientific areas fall down. Once pulled down the unnecessary boundaries between design ad restoration, it is necessary to determine if restoration of modern architecture has a specifity in respect to restoration itself. The essay focuses on this difference and underlines the importance of the concept of unfinished project in the (anti) tradition of modernism and how some reflections of E.N. Rogers can help to follow this route.
