Le relazioni pericolose: imprese e movimenti sociali

Abstract

Relationships between organizations and social movements are not only increasing, but they are also more oriented towards cooperation rather than conflict. This study tries to understand how the links between organizations and social movements influence 1. the creation and evolution of organizational identity, 2. the legitimation process of the organization, 3. the organization’s span of action. Based on the analysis of four cases of organizations that decided to link their identity to different social movements, this study suggests that such relationships can help building a new competitive arena, but they can also create a cage from which it is difficult to escape.
