Following a twofold qualitative and quantitative methodology, this paper focuses on the adaptation process from the novel Patria (Fernando Aramburu, 2016) to the screenplay of the TV series Patria (Aitor Gabilondo, 2020). Through the study of the main strategies employed to tackle the challenge of rewriting this best seller, characterized by the originality of its narrative style and the complexity of its structure, this paper intersects with a less-explored avenue of linguistic research related to telecinematic discourse.
