Il lubok nel sistema della cultura russa

Abstract

La stampa popolare (lubok) è un'espressione della cultura russa che si pone tra l'eredità della cultura antico-russa e i mutamenti che contrassegnano l'influsso occidentale: dalla prima occidentalizzazione secentesca, a quella settecentesca, alla fase legata agli avvenimenti successivi al 1812 e, ancora, al periodo sovietico. La sua fortuna in Russia riguarda sia la diffusione, a tutti i livelli della società russa, dimostrata anche dalla frequente citazione nella letteratura colta, sia l’ispirazione che ne trassero artisti come Kandinskij, Chagall o Malevič, fino alla trasformazione in espressione dell’arte rivoluzionaria ad opera di Vl.Vl. Majakovskij. Il lubok è confluito poi, negli anni 1920-25 in un nuovo genere rivoluzionario, quello delle stampe-manifesti, fino alla ripresa dei nostri giorni, in cui assistiamo a un rinnovato interesse per questo genere iconografico popolare altamente espressivo.
