FEM prediction of springback control in air bending

Abstract

Nei processi di piegatura libera della lamiera il risultato finale può essere influenzato in modo significativo dalle proprietà del materiale impiegato. In particolare, il ritorno elastico non è legato solo alle caratteristiche geometriche della lamiera piegata, bensì anche alle principali proprietà del materiale utilizzato (modulo di elasticità, carico di snervamento e indice di incrudimento). Queste proprietà possono essere stimate attraverso la misurazione del carico applicato al punzone di piega durante l’intero processo e possono essere utilizzate in modo indiretto per stimare la corsa necessaria ad ottenere l’angolo di piega voluto. In questo lavoro viene descritto un algoritmo euristico per il controllo dello spostamento del punzone, tale algoritmo è in grado di sfruttare i dati relativi alla forza di piega misurata per predire il ritorno elastico. Il metodo è basato sul fitting di diversi parametri numerici ottenuti attraverso delle simulazioni agli elementi finiti. L’utilizzo di software FEM aumenta la flessibilità nella raccolta dei dati permettendo di studiare in modo rapido ed economico ogni combinazione di materiale e geometria. Le verifiche eseguite hanno mostrato una buona qualità predittiva del metodo.
