Abstract

The idea which I stand for is the belief that Curating Architecture doesn’t run out in exhibition programs, conferences, discipline debates, biennales or triennales: As a matter of fact, if one takes on account the ethymological meaning of the terms Curate, Curator and Cure, the curatorial practice should consider other approaches and above all be a means and a tool that enable to cure the city. “I learned with Henry Cole that curating can be a way of urbanism, which can heal city’s mutations.” (Obrist, 2014) Bearing in mind the fact that Curating may be a means to cure the city, the huge issue of this assignment comes up: Can Curating be an urban architectural renewal process? A tool that can be used to cure the city? “I Think curating is related to urbanism.” (Obrist, 2011) The aim of the study case is to complement and develop the theoretical consideration, by analysing the peculiarity of two architectural projects that were set up by the Artéria Atelier. As the main purpose of this assignment is a better understanding of the role of curatorship in which concerns architecture, as well as the tools that can be used to cure the city, then we can surely find in this atelier all the ingredients that are the foundations of my assignment: the language and architectural discourse used in the two works.
