Indisciplina escolar : contribuições da família e da gestão escolar

Abstract

The starting point of this research is to know how the family and school management can act collaboratively to reduce students indiscipline. Investigating the issue of indiscipline in school is a major challenge because it goes beyond the scope of the school institution, considering that the institution itself welcomes a diversifiedcommunity from different cultures. Such people come to school with inherent rules and behaviors, as well as distinct habitus (Bourdieu, 2008). Thus, the school space becomes a field of power struggle due to the dispute of cultures. In the specific case of this study, the city of Caraibeiras, in the middle ofPernambuco outback, is alocus of investigation that presents a diversity of cultures because the town is a pole of handmade products and receives immigrants throughout the year. The theoretical categories chosen for the analysis of the empirical scope were indiscipline, family and school management within the school culture.
