For one better understanding of the abandonment of the productive systems of the agricultural explorations, is made a historical summary of agriculture, consequences of our participation in I where they exist a set of norms imposed through the CAP until the o multiannual programs 2014-2020. For the development of the work, the geographic framing of the territory is made, a small historical summary, a demographic analysis of municipality and an identification of the process of settlement of the agricultural zones. 28 interviews to a set of individuals and representative entities of all had been carried through the clienteles of municipality of Montijo, where in the analysis of the data if they had verified a set of causes that are to originate the abandonment of agriculture in some explorations. The economic unfeasibility due to small dimension, the difficulty of draining of the products, the aging of great part of the agriculturists, the evolution of the commercialization circuits, the certification of the products and the modernization of the explorations, are problems for the small explorations. The importance of the organization of the agriculturists, in associations, thus creating, the scale necessary to give to reply to the new requirements of the market, using to advantage deep communitarian the available ones.
