Abstract

The definition of creativity aroused the interest of many researchers is difficult to reach a consensus, and then your research is so important. Thus, to study the stylesof thinking and creatinginventiveindividualsbecomesvery important. This study aims to verify the levels of creativity, as well as the styles of thinking and creating, checking if there are differences between different sociodemographic questionnaire variables: gender, age, marital status, education, hobbies, anddrivethe correlationsbetweencreativity andstylesof thinking and creating. For this,we used asample of 200military, 96 of USHE and 104of UI, aged between 20 and 52 years (M =34.74, SD = 7.721). We applied the following tests: Test for Creative Thinking –Drawing Production (Urban & Jellen, 1996) and the Scale of Thinking Styles and Create (Wechsler, 2006), and a sociodemographic questionnaire. The total average creativity of participants is16.9, indicating that subjects are below average (Urban & Jellen, 1996). With regard to the total levels of creativity, there are no differences between men and women, or in relation to different age groups. In turn, older individuals have elevated the dimensions Cautious-Reflexive and Emotional-Intuitive. Regarding qualifications, licensed individuals have higher levels of creativity compared with those with only the preparatory cycle. There are differences in creativity among military belonging to USHE and UI. However, those who belong to USHE show results in higher Purpose-Logic dimension. The correlations found in this study between EPC and the dimensions of the 14 criteria of the TCT-DP are weak. This may occur because there are no pure styles, and can be found characteristics of different styles in a single person (Wechsler, 2006).
