O papel do Marketing Digital no crescimento do partido Iniciativa Liberal

Abstract

A dissertação "O Impacto do Marketing Digital na Evolução do Partido Iniciativa Liberal" analisa como a utilização estratégica das ferramentas de marketing digital desempenharam um papel fundamental na evolução e crescimento do partido político Iniciativa Liberal (IL). Ao longo das últimas décadas, o marketing digital tornou-se uma ferramenta poderosa em todas as áreas da economia e também na comunicação política, permitindo às organizações e intervenientes políticos alcançarem públicos mais amplos, mobilizar apoiantes e moldar suas mensagens de maneira eficaz. O "potencial de atingir novos mercados, particularmente os jovens, que muitas vezes são alienados pelas formas tradicionais de comportamento poli?tico e de comunicac?ão, mas são os primeiros usua?rios da Internet e das ferramentas digitais" (Marshment, 2009: p.170) Este estudo começa por apresentar uma visão geral do surgimento da comunicação, as suas barreiras e enquadramento do marketing político e eleitoral. Em seguida, explora a evolução da internet e pelo contexto político em Portugal. Por fim, e antes de entrar no estudo empírico, aborda-se o Liberalismo Político e a sua evolução histórica. A dissertação que aqui se resume também destaca alguns casos específicos de aplicação do marketing digital à promoção de candidatos e articulação de estratégias de comunicação política. Além disso, são abordadas questões éticas e desafios associados ao uso do marketing digital na política, como a disseminação de informações falsas e a privacidade dos eleitores. Por fim, conclui-se que o marketing digital desempenhou (e desempenha) um papel significativo na evolução do partido Iniciativa Liberal, permitindo-lhe competir de maneira mais eficaz num ambiente político cada vez mais digitalizado. No entanto, também se destaca a importância de manter a integridade e a transparência nas campanhas políticas online. Esta dissertação oferece insights valiosos sobre como os partidos políticos podem aproveitar o marketing digital para crescer e influenciar o cenário político contemporâneo, ao mesmo tempo em que destaca a necessidade de responsabilidade e ética na utilização dessas ferramentas poderosas. The dissertation "The Impact of Digital Marketing on the Evolution of the Liberal Initiative Party" analyzes how the strategic use of digital marketing tools played a fundamental role in the evolution and growth of the Liberal Initiative (IL) political party. Over the past few decades, digital marketing has become a powerful tool in all areas of the economy and also in political communication, allowing organizations and political actors to reach wider audiences, mobilize supporters and shape their messages effectively. The “potential to reach new markets, particularly young people, who are often alienated by traditional forms of political behavior and communication, but are the first users of the Internet and digital tools” (Marshment, 2009: p.170) This study begins by presenting an overview of the emergence of communication, its barriers and the framework of political and electoral marketing. It then explores the evolution of the internet and the political context in Portugal. Finally, and before entering into the empirical study, Political Liberalism and its historical evolution are addressed. The dissertation summarized here also highlights some specific cases of applying digital marketing to promoting candidates and articulating political communication strategies. Furthermore, ethical issues and challenges associated with the use of digital marketing in politics are addressed, such as the dissemination of false information and voter privacy. Finally, it is concluded that digital marketing played (and plays) a significant role in the evolution of the Liberal Initiative party, allowing it to compete more effectively in an increasingly digitalized political environment. However, the importance of maintaining integrity and transparency in online political campaigns also stands out. This dissertation offers valuable insights into how political parties can leverage digital marketing to grow and influence the contemporary political landscape, while also highlighting the need for responsibility and ethics in utilizing these powerful tools..
