The preservation of cultural heritage is a concern of all States. Of the various issues raised by the subject, reference is made in this brief work to the social and economic significance of the protection of real immovables. The law prohibit that the artistic contributions of real state in their different manifestations are ignored, concealed, altered or destroyed, because when this happens the identity signs of a society are altered. The identity of a people is shaped by the contributions of the cultures on which its origins and development are based, and for this reason the cultural heritage must be conserved.

La preservación del patrimonio cultural es una preocupación de todos los Estados. De las diversas cuestiones que suscita la materia se hace referencia en este breve trabajo a la trascendencia social y económica de la protección de los bienes inmuebles. La normativa vigente prohíbe que se ignoren, oculten, alteren o destruyan las contribuciones artísticas que proporcionan los bienes inmuebles en sus distintas manifestaciones, porque ello implica que se alteren las señas de identidad de una sociedad, que se conforman por las aportaciones de las culturas en las que se sustentan sus orígenes y su desarrollo.
