A fachada ventilada : evolução histórica

Abstract

The main goal of this dissertation is to analyze the historical evolution of the constructive system known as Ventilated Façade, with an additional brief reference of the system itself. For this effect, this paper will be divided in six chapters, with the intention to transmit the information in a clear and precise way. In the first and second chapter it will be done a small introduction to the system, describing it, presenting the elements that constitute it, it’s advantages and some materials used as coating. The third, fourth and fifth chapters will be designated to the development of the main theme. On the third, will be presented some ventilated façade’s ancestors, that lead to the its evolution. On the fourth chapter there will be an historical evolution analysis, presenting different constructions and concepts that stood out over the time, and on the fifth chapter will be referred some Portuguese buildings with a ventilated façade as examples. On the sixth chapter it will be made a thermal evaluation of a simulated wall with and without this system, so that it can be determined the importance and specificity of it.
