Abstract

Women's soccer is increasingly developing worldwide, exceeding the expectations that have existed its growth. We can see, that in recent years, the number of girls and women playing and following soccer has multiplied. In a decade marked by the importance of girls and women empowerment, we are not just witnessing a sport phenomenon, but also a cultural and social change throughout the world. Women’s soccer took a giant step, generating the social impact it deserved to have had for a long time, as the game is reaching more visibility and recognition of society. Finally, it has increasingly prestigious regional, national and international competitions, that nowadays, have the visibility and recognition of society, as well as elite players, who are examples and role models for all young people, men and women. This paper will present the conceptual, organizational and operational guidelines and orientations of training and competition processes of Amora Futebol Clube Women’s Senior team in the 2018/2019 season, of the Portuguese Second Division. The report, divided into seven chapters, will explain the individual project of the internship, the context and reality of the team and the competitions, in which [the team] was part of. The other chapters will count with an analysis and reflections on the game and training models that were carried out during the season, throughout the 37 official matches that were played, which translates into a total of 3330 minutes of competitive volume. Finally, based in the organizational dynamic and the club’s strategic development project, in the senior team and in the athlete’s profile that usually is part of the club, it was designed a model of stages for the specific development of women’s football in this club, with the intention of guiding the institution and all sports agents who works directly with the athletes. This models highlights the contents, methodology, and the main aspects that must be taken into consideration in the development of the players, increasing the probability of complying a pathway characterized by higher quality dynamics, and therefore, girls and women can practice this sport for a long term basis.
