Teorías del juego como recurso educativo

Abstract

En esta comunicación se aborda el tema del juego y su importancia en el aprendizaje y el desarrollo integral del niño a través de un análisis crítico de los aspectos más relevantes de las diferentes teorías sobre el juego como herramienta educativa. En primer lugar, se expone el concepto de juego. En segundo lugar, se muestra la importancia del juego en la sociedad y la cultura como herramienta educativa. En tercer lugar, se describen siete de las teorías clásicas más conocidas sobre el juego infantil que se desarrollan entre la segunda mitad del siglo XIX y el primer tercio del siglo XX: La teoría del excedente energético de Herbert Spencer (1855), la teoría de la relajación de Lazarus (1883), la teoría del preejercicio de Karl Groos (1898), la teoría de la recapitulación de Granville Stanley Hall (1904), la teoría de Sigmund Freud (1856- 1939), la teoría de la derivación por ficción de Édouard Claparède (1932) y la teoría de la dinámica infantil de Frederic J. J. Buytendijk (1935). Finalmente, se presentan las conclusiones, en las que se destaca la importancia que, según las teorías analizadas, tiene el juego en la vida del niño.
