Optimale Komplexität von Entscheidungsmodellen unter Berücksichtigung der Besteuerung: Eine Analyse im Fall der Betriebsveräußerung

Abstract

Implementing taxes in decision criteria is common in modern capital budgeting models. However due to innumerable tax law details the question arises to what extend consideration of taxation is optimal. In this paper we show that taking just very basic tax elements into account in capital budgeting models distorts investment decisions. We use marginal prices of sole proprietorships or partnerships respectively for both seller and purchaser. The results show that implementing tax law elements on a very basic level leads to contrary decisions compared to the case where appropriate tax law details are considered. Further we show to what extend tax law details - especially tax electives - affect conclusions of business entity transactions.
