Die Bedeutung der Kulturtheorie von Geert Hofstede für das internationale Management

Abstract

Ziel dieser Diplomarbeit ist es, eine Abgrenzung des Modells von Geert Hofstede zu anderen Kulturtheorien zu ermitteln und ferner die Diskussion um das Hofstedesche Kulturmodell aufzuarbeiten. Darauf aufbauend soll die Anwendbarkeit und Gültigkeit des Hofstedeschen Ansatzes geprüft werden, da dieser aufgrund seiner Sonderposition nicht selten ungeprüfte Anwendung erfährt. Die zentrale Frage ist demnach, ob geäußerte Kritiken und Schwachstellen Bestand haben und das Modell einer tatsächlichen Überarbeitung bedarf. Diese Fragestellung wird vor allem mit Blick auf das internationale Management beantwortet. Unterziel ist es, die Nutzbarmachung der Modelldaten für die praktische Anwendung darzulegen. Grundlegend für diese Diplomarbeit ist die Frage, welche tatsächliche Stellung die Kulturtheorie von Geert Hofstede heute einnimmt und inwiefern sie gültig Daten zur Verfügung stellt.
