Sharing ≠ Sharing Economy: Ausprägungen der digitalen Sharing Economy im Lebensmittelsektor

Abstract

In recent years, the phenomenon of the sharing economy has led to controversies and ambivalent valuations. Originally, the Sharing Economy was linked to the hope of establishing a counter-model to the property-based economy. In the meantime, however, the risks of commodification of all areas of life are increasingly coming to the surface. By means of the different narratives, the present contribution will examine the different discourses that also deal with the functioning of the sharing or platform economy. Subsequently, an empirical study of various sharing organizations in the food sector will visualize the digital sharing economy by means of a typology. This will help to finally clarify why the sharing of the sharing economy can only partially be equated with the social practice of sharing.
