BUGA-Seilbahn Koblenz

Federal Garden Show - Cable car Koblenz
Authors: Butter, Manfred;

BUGA-Seilbahn Koblenz

Abstract

In order to facilitate the tri-polar site concept for the 2011 Federal Garden Show in Koblenz, a spatial planning assessment for an efficient cable car track across the Rhine was conducted. The assessment focused on aspects related to water management, nature protection, heritage conservation, urban development and transport. The question of compatibility with the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Upper Middle Rhine was also considered. A simplified spatial planning assessment allowed a spatially compatible temporary project (2011-2026) to be quickly drawn up for the subsequent approval procedure.
