This paper is devoted to an analysis of the 2002 National Census data regarding immigration to Poland and some aspects of emigration from Poland. The paper presents a detailed discussion on emigration and the role of migrant networks in the process of inflow and outflow; the impact of migration on human resources and human capital; return migration; immigration of students. It also includes a comparison of Census data on migration with other sources of data related to this issue.
