Umweltbewußtsein und Wahlverhalten

Authors: Fietkau, Hans-Joachim;

Umweltbewußtsein und Wahlverhalten

Abstract

The increasing growth of environmental awareness in the Federal Republic of Germany has led to institionalized forms of organization such as Citizens action groups, Green Lists, and environmental parties. It has also motivated the established political parties to show a aeeper concern for environmental problems. In the public's view, environmental protection is one of the most urgent political tasks. In this area, interest in environmental problems, personal commitment'and also the consumption of Information is surprisingly high. While there is low confidence in the ability of established political parties to solve these problems successfully, Citizens' action groups are generally attributed great political importance and the capacity to handle pressing environmental problems.
