Cuidadores informais e envelhecimento ativo

Abstract

Esta dissertação enquadra-se no Mestrado de Intervenção para um Envelhecimento Ativo, onde é feito um estudo multicasos de natureza biográfica que dá conta da relação de cuidadores informais com as idosas que cuidam. Em termos metodológicos, utilizamos o estudo multicasos com recurso a entrevistas aprofundadas abertas no contexto de três casos: cuidadora informal no apoio à idosa na sua própria casa; cuidadora informal em que o idoso recebe o serviço de apoio ao domicilio; e cuidadora informal em que o idoso frequenta o centro de convívio. As conclusões deste estudo comparativo entre três casos mostram que a relação pessoal estabelecida entre cuidador informal e idoso assenta em estratégias de um cuidar personalizado com vista à melhoria da qualidade de vida dos idosos e ao seu envelhecimento ativo. Os três casos, para além destes aspetos comuns, mostram, em particular, os contextos em que estes se encontram inseridos, nomeadamente aas estratégias que são aplicadas.
